A grey, even sky over the water, with mild air moving in from the S and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Lac Difficile should be near the shallows early and the drop later. The forecast is against you; the evening is the least bad option. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Difficile sits in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, out in Quebec. The bank gives way to boreal forest. You can fish the entire water from one spot if you pick it well. Our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list holds plenty of bigger water. The closest town, Labrecque, is 75 km distant. Saguenay is the closest city, 98 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Difficile fishes better once you know its edges.
Averages move between -19°C in January and 16°C in July. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac Difficile the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Lac Sabana is 0.8 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Difficile in what we hold.
