A grey, even sky over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac des Roselins should come off the weed line and any gaps in it. A grinding day likely, with the night worth the effort if any is. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac des Roselins is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. Country round the bank runs to taiga. It runs to roughly 37 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. There is roughly 3.3 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. It is among the larger waters listed here for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. The closest town, Leblanc, is 79 km distant. Then Normandin, 82 km, and Albanel, 89 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac des Roselins the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Average temperature peaks around 16°C in July and bottoms out near -18°C in January. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near early November in autumn. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Time your trip to Lac des Roselins by conditions rather than dates.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Domprel, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the current arrangement for Lac des Roselins.
