No direct sun expected today, with a whisper of wind from the S with a settled glass. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Lac des Pins. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

In Quebec, Lac des Pins falls inside Laurentides. It sits at 335 metres above sea level. At 4 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Most waters listed here for Laurentides are larger. The nearest town is Ferme-Neuve, 31 km away. The nearest city of size is Orléans, 166 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Lac des Pins fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -15°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac des Pins the season follows that pattern closely.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac de la Roche sits 0.4 km off and takes the overflow. What applies at Lac des Pins may have changed since it was mapped.
