Passing showers with dry spells between, with a soft N wind and no real change in pressure. Most of the action on Lac des Ilots should come off the calm side of the wind. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac des Ilots is one of the Outaouais listings for Quebec. Height above sea level is 271 metres. Around 20 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. There is roughly 2.9 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. For supplies, Deep River is 30 km out. Further out sit Chalk River (34 km) and Petawawa (43 km). The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Fish Lac des Ilots to its features, not to its size.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -14°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac des Ilots fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Lac Migneault is 1.9 km distant. Treat access at Lac des Ilots as something to verify.
