Rain colouring the margins today, with a light chop building from the S and pressure sitting still. The fish at Lac des Iles are likely to sit near bays that hold the day's warmth. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac des Iles lies in Lanaudière, Quebec. The ground round it is mixed forest. This is sizeable water at about 4.84 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. The shoreline runs about 22 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. On our Lanaudière list it sits near the top for size. Head to Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson, 8 km away, for anything you forgot. Chertsey follows at 11 km, then Val-David at 16 km. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch among the fish reported. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. At Lac des Iles the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The seasonal spread runs -14°C to 18°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Lac des Iles runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A launch point is recorded some 1.4 km off. Parking is not close: 1.4 km from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. A pier 1.4 km from here gives a platform over deeper water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Lac a Gaby sits 1.5 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Lac des Iles.
