Rain moving through today, with a light WSW breeze and no real change in pressure. On Lac Demers, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Demers belongs to Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The shore lies 17 km out. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. Saint-Fulgence lies 22 km from the water. After that come La Baie at 31 km and Saint-Honoré at 31 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac Demers gives up more to patience than to distance.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -18°C in January. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Lac Demers fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Amical sits 0.3 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac Demers should be assumed from this page alone.
