Dull, settled light over the water, with barely a breath of wind with the glass holding level. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Delta. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Delta lies in Laurentides, Quebec. The bank is 239 metres above sea level. It covers about 9 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. For supplies, Ferme-Neuve is 34 km out. Then Mont-Laurier, 48 km, and Saint-Boniface, 57 km. Also worth knowing: Lac de la Radio about 1.2 km, Lac Lola within 3.4 km, Lac Lamerliere about 5.4 km, Lac Gratton within 5.5 km and Lac a Foin about 6.6 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Delta that means starting tight and working out.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -15°C on the long-run figures. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. On Lac Delta that shapes the whole year.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac de la Radio, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Delta before loading the car.
