Showers crossing the water today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the WNW and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac de l'Est along the margins and the shelf beyond them. The day holds up well from afternoon into evening. Work the productive water thoroughly. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Lac de l'Est sits within Chaudière-Appalaches in Quebec. It stands 310 metres above sea level. The shoreline runs about 5.5 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. On our Chaudière-Appalaches list it sits near the top for size. Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine at 4.9 km is the nearest place to stop. Disraeli lies 7.5 km off, Thetford-Mines another 19 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Chaudière-Appalaches, recorded fish include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Work Lac de l'Est in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -12°C in January. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. The season on Lac de l'Est rarely departs from it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. If the gate is shut, Petit lac Long at 3.5 km is the nearest alternative. Check the current arrangement for Lac de l'Est.
