Steady rain over the water today, with a kind SSW breeze on the water and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac de la Palombe should centre on the calm side of the wind. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Within Outaouais, Quebec, you have Lac de la Palombe. It lies 239 metres above sea level. At 4 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Our Outaouais list holds plenty of bigger water. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 35 km away. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 48 km and Ferme-Neuve at 53 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. At Lac de la Palombe light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -15°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Anyone fishing Lac de la Palombe regularly works to that calendar.
We hold no note on access for this one. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac de l'Ondatra at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. Signs at Lac de la Palombe carry more weight than any list.
