A closed sky with even light today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac de la Neige around the seam between weed and open water. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies.

The Outaouais entry here is Lac de la Neige, in Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have boreal forest. Small at around 8 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. For supplies, Saint-Boniface is 83 km out. Ferme-Neuve lies 84 km off, Mont-Laurier another 94 km. Water in the same corner: Lac Meduse (0.5 km), Lac Jendin roughly 1 km, Lac Plomb (1.1 km), Lac Chiton roughly 1.2 km and Lac Infer (1.4 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Species logged across Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Lac de la Neige fishes better once you know its edges.
Averages move between -17°C in January and 17°C in July. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly late November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac de la Neige.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Meduse at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. Treat access at Lac de la Neige as something to verify.
