Wet weather working through today, with a kind SE breeze on the water and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Lac de la Mine should be near reed fringes and open pockets. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Mauricie in Quebec is where Lac de la Mine sits. The sea is 31 km distant. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Our Mauricie list holds plenty of bigger water. 10 km away sits Saint-Ubalde, the nearest town. The big place round here is Trois-Rivières, 56 km distant. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Lac de la Mine responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-term averages put July at about 19°C and January near -14°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. It holds true on Lac de la Mine more years than not.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Overnight stays are possible about 830 m out, where camping is mapped. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Charest at 0.6 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac de la Mine may have changed since it was mapped.
