Showers crossing the water today, with a soft S wind with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac de la Decharge along windblown banks where food collects. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac de la Decharge lies within the bounds of Laurentides, Quebec. The bank gives way to pine and birch. At 1.11 sq km this is proper open water rather than a pond. There is roughly 6.3 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. It ranks high for size among our Laurentides listings. Lac-Simon sits 6.4 km from here and is the nearest stop. For a city, Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is 91 km off. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The county list is broader than any single water. At Lac de la Decharge light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect July to average close to 18°C, with January the cold end at about -14°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Anyone fishing Lac de la Decharge regularly works to that calendar.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Parking is not close: 860 m from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. A jetty or pier is mapped about 1 km from here. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac du Campeur, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac de la Decharge in particular, ask before you travel.
