Showers crossing the water today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and steady pressure. Start the search at Lac de l'Anse along the seam between weed and open water. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac de l'Anse sits within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec. The bank gives way to taiga. With some 37 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The full circuit measures close to 2.8 km on foot. It is among the larger waters listed here for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. For supplies, Forestville is 169 km out. Labrecque lies 171 km off, Saint-Honoré another 172 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac de l'Anse responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Expect July to average close to 15°C, with January the cold end at about -20°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid May. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about early November in an average year. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. That shapes the year on Lac de l'Anse.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Rico sits 1.2 km off and takes the overflow. Treat Lac de l'Anse as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
