A rainy spell sitting over the area, with almost no wind to speak of with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Davis along bays that hold the day's warmth. The day fishes best from the day. Pick two or three spots and rotate them. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

The Laurentides entry here is Lac Davis, in Quebec. This is lake country bush country. Around 13 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The full circuit measures close to 1.5 km on foot. Rivière-Rouge at 32 km is the nearest place to stop. Labelle is 41 km away, with Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 47 km. Not far off: Lac Orsan 0.9 km, Lac Charlie after 1.4 km, Lac Robitaille 1.5 km, Lac Glen after 1.8 km and Lac Ruter 2.2 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Fish Lac Davis to its features, not to its size.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -15°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It holds true on Lac Davis more years than not.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Failing this one, try Lac Orsan, 0.9 km away. Confirm before you fish Lac Davis.
