No direct sun expected today, with a light chop building from the SSE and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac David along reed fringes and open pockets. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Morning
The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean entry here is Lac David, in Quebec. The bank is 199 metres above sea level. Roughly 35 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 3.6 km of margin, front to back. On our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list it sits near the top for size. The nearest town is Albanel, 20 km away. For a city, Saguenay is 126 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Read Lac David before you fish it and the day goes better.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -19°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Plan any trip to Lac David around it.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac de la Savane sits 2.3 km off and takes the overflow. Rules at Lac David are worth checking on the day.
