An even grey lid over the water, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Daniel are likely to sit near bays that hold the day's warmth. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Daniel is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. The bank is 690 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 6 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. The closest town, Saint-Fulgence, is 64 km distant. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 76 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Fish Lac Daniel where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Winter locks it down, and mid May brings it back. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about early November in an average year. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Plan any trip to Lac Daniel around it.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Lac aux Canards is 1.6 km distant. Signs at Lac Daniel carry more weight than any list.
