  Lac Dan is one of the Mauricie waters in Quebec. The setting is pine and birch. It covers about 6 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Nearest place of any size is La Tuque, 48 km away. Métabetchouan follows at 73 km, then Chambord at 77 km. Other water nearby: Lac Paul at about 0.2 km, Lac Gilles a touch under 0.8 km, Lac Sec at about 0.9 km, Lac Savane a touch under 1.2 km and Lac Creux at about 1.4 km. • Where to Fish on Lac Dan

  Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. The county list is broader than any single water.
