An even grey lid over the water, with a gentle ripple from the SSW with the barometer flat. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Crombiau. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

You will find Lac Crombiau in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Country round the bank runs to spruce and muskeg. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. Port-Cartier lies 87 km from the water. Saguenay is the closest city, 370 km away. In the same area: Lac Jacom out at 0.5 km, Lac Darailh 0.6 km, Lac Huguin out at 0.8 km, Lac Scole 1 km and Lac Dual out at 1.5 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Côte-Nord list logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Crombiau a short move beats a long cast.
The range across the year is -19°C to 14°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around mid May. Ice usually gives way near mid May, and forms again about early November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Crombiau.
No access rule appears in what we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Jacom at 0.5 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm access to Lac Crombiau locally before you travel.
