Rain colouring the margins today, with a faint S drift and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac Clou around windblown banks where food collects. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Clou stands in Côte-Nord, Quebec. The country round it is taiga from end to end. Surface area runs to about 2 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. Start from Forestville, 116 km down the road. Saint-Honoré follows at 120 km, then Saint-Fulgence at 122 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Work Lac Clou in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Lac Clou runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Sic at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. What applies at Lac Clou may have changed since it was mapped.
