A wet system passing over today, with an easy breeze from the WSW and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Clepete should hold close to the seam between weed and open water. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Clepete is set in Côte-Nord, Quebec. It stands 566 metres above sea level. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Côte-Nord standards. Forestville lies 71 km from the water. The big place round here is Saguenay, 126 km distant. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Clepete that means starting tight and working out.
The warmest month averages 16°C, the coldest about -18°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Clepete.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Rolande sits 0.6 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Clepete for certain.
