Overcast skies today, with a persistent wind from the SSW and steady pressure. Fish at Lac Cirier should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Cirier is a Lanaudière water, in Quebec. The water sits 571 metres up. The water covers some 30 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The bank runs about 2.5 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Start from Saint-Michel-des-Saints, 36 km down the road. Beyond it, Manawan at 50 km and Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 51 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Fish Lac Cirier to its features, not to its size.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -16°C for January. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Anyone fishing Lac Cirier regularly works to that calendar.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac du Piton sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. Confirm before you fish Lac Cirier.
