Rain colouring the margins today, with a kind SSW breeze on the water and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Chrissie should come off any hard bottom among the soft. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac Chrissie lies within the bounds of Nord-du-Québec, Quebec. It stands 346 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 99 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 4.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Chapais is the closest place, 18 km off. It is 328 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Nord-du-Québec records list Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Chrissie light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -19°C for January. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Chrissie.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac de la Fleche sits 4.8 km off and takes the overflow. Ask locally about Lac Chrissie if anything is unclear.
