Thunder risk building through the day, with a light chop building from the S and pressure sitting still. On Lac Charlie, work structure within a cast of the bank first. Middle-of-the-road numbers across the board. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

You will find Lac Charlie in Laurentides, Quebec. The setting is rolling bush on every side. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Start from Rivière-Rouge, 25 km down the road. For a city, Orléans is 132 km off. Within easy reach: Lac Scobar roughly 2.7 km, Lac Belanger 3.5 km away, Lac Johnny roughly 4 km, Lac Frasier 4.1 km away and Lac Rouge roughly 4.1 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Charlie fishes better once you know its edges.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -15°C at the bottom of winter. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Charlie runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Boat access is recorded roughly 1.5 km away. Public data records a pier about 1.5 km out. A campsite is mapped about 1 km away, which makes an early start easier. Mapping records toilets within 1.5 km. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. The nearest alternative is Lac Scobar, 2.7 km out. Nothing on Lac Charlie should be assumed from this page alone.
