Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a faint S drift and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac Charette around bays that hold the day's warmth. Fair numbers all day without a real peak. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Outaouais entry here is Lac Charette, in Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. At about 13 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The full circuit measures close to 2.1 km on foot. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. 11 km away sits Papineauville, the nearest town. Saint-André-Avellin is 13 km and Plantagenet 18 km. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Lac Charette the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Typical July readings run about 19°C; by January the average is down near -12°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. On average, late April opens the water and early December closes it again. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Plan around that when you fish Lac Charette.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. If the gate is shut, Lac Lacroix at 1 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Charette, the notice at the access point is the final word.
