Dull, settled light over the water, with light air out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac Cerdon should centre on structure within a cast of the bank. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Cerdon sits in Lanaudière, out in Quebec. It lies 464 metres above sea level. About 3 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is a small entry by Lanaudière standards. The nearest place of any size is Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, 35 km away. It is 111 km to Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, the nearest city. This one is safely inside the county line.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Open biodiversity records for Lanaudière list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. The county list is broader than any single water. Lac Cerdon gives up more to patience than to distance.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The lid usually goes in early May, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The water is typically free of ice between early May and late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac Cerdon that shapes the whole year.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Englos at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Cerdon, the notice at the access point is the final word.
