Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with light air out of the S and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Canne should come off bays that hold the day's warmth. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Canne is one of the Laurentides waters in Quebec. It lies 363 metres above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. You are 39 km from Ferme-Neuve. Mont-Laurier is 56 km and Saint-Boniface 73 km. Nearby alternatives: Lac Normand near enough 0.6 km, Lac Danielle at about 0.9 km, Lac Jeannette near enough 1 km, Lac Mantha at about 1.5 km and Lac Comtois near enough 1.9 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Read Lac Canne before you fish it and the day goes better.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Lac Canne fishes to that pattern most years.
We hold no note on access for this one. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Failing this one, try Lac Normand, 0.6 km away. For Lac Canne in particular, ask before you travel.
