Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a light SSW breeze with a settled glass. Fish at Lac Bruyere should hold close to the weed line and any gaps in it. The strongest window is the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Laurentides entry here is Lac Bruyere, in Quebec. Rolling bush runs right down to the water. Start from Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard, 6.3 km down the road. Further out sit Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts (11 km) and Val-David (15 km). Also worth knowing: Lac de la Baguette at 1 km, Lac du Rocher after 1.2 km, Lac Dubuc at 1.4 km, Lac Massie after 1.8 km and Lac Bourdeau at 1.9 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth figures are not published for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. At Lac Bruyere the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The year swings from about -14°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan any trip to Lac Bruyere around it.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac de la Baguette sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Bruyere in particular, ask before you travel.
