An even grey lid over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac Brise around the first drop-off and weed lines. The numbers single out the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Brise is one of the Lanaudière listings for Quebec. It sits at 476 metres above sea level. It measures about 36 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. You are looking at roughly 6.2 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. On our Lanaudière list it sits near the top for size. 25 km away sits Saint-Michel-des-Saints, the nearest town. Mandeville is 38 km and Saint-Gabriel 43 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Brise gives up more to patience than to distance.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Ice clears near early May and comes back about late November in a typical year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Time your trip to Lac Brise by conditions rather than dates.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. If the gate is shut, Lac du Fantome at 1.1 km is the nearest alternative. What applies at Lac Brise may have changed since it was mapped.
