Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a consistent blow out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Brebant should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Brebant stands in Lanaudière, Quebec. Height above sea level is 507 metres. Surface area is around 76 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Some 6.2 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. On our Lanaudière list it sits near the top for size. The nearest town is Manawan, 26 km away. The big place round here is Trois-Rivières, 145 km distant. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. At Lac Brebant light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Brebant fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac Clapier is 1.1 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Brebant in what we hold.
