A rainy spell sitting over the area, with the surface near flat with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Bowker along the first drop-off and weed lines. Expect the better fishing from afternoon into evening. Give the likely spots time before moving. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Within Estrie, Quebec, you have Lac Bowker. It lies 312 metres above sea level. At some 2.40 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. Shoreline length is close to 14 km, and each section fishes a little differently. Size puts it in the front rank of our Estrie list. Start from Valcourt, 12 km down the road. After that come Magog at 18 km and Rock Forest at 18 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Estrie include rainbow trout, white sucker, pumpkinseed, brook trout and rainbow smelt. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. The shape of Lac Bowker decides where the fish sit.
July runs about 19°C on average, January about -11°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from late April until about early December. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Anyone fishing Lac Bowker regularly works to that calendar.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Lac de la Mine at 1.6 km is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Lac Bowker in what we hold.
