Passing showers with dry spells between, with a soft SSW wind and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Bordage should be near sheltered bays and points. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Out in Côte-Nord, Quebec, sits Lac Bordage. It sits at 365 metres above sea level. The water covers some 16 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Bank access stretches around 2.4 km in total. The town to know is Port-Cartier, 38 km out. Saint-Alexandre lies 39 km off, Sept-Îles another 62 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Bordage light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The year swings from about -17°C in January to roughly 15°C in July. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid May. On average, mid May opens the water and early November closes it again. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Bordage.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Lac Desrosiers is 1 km off. Check the current arrangement for Lac Bordage.
