Soft grey light all day today, with a soft SSW wind with a settled glass. Fish at Lac Bob should hold close to the shallows early and the drop later. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Bob is listed under Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The land about it is spruce and muskeg. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. Saint-Fulgence lies 55 km from the water. Saint-Honoré lies 55 km off, Chicoutimi another 64 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Bob a short move beats a long cast.
July runs about 15°C on average, January about -19°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. After mid May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate figures give an open season running mid May to early November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. That is the shape of the year on Lac Bob.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. The nearest alternative is Lac Jerry, 1.2 km out. Confirm access to Lac Bob locally before you travel.
