Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a mirror surface most of the day with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Bleu should be near reed fringes and open pockets. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Bleu lies in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in Quebec. This is lake country bush ground. Surface area runs to some 17.16 sq km, so a boat and a plan are both worth having. The outline measures near 75 km, so a boat opens up water the bank never reaches. On our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list it sits near the top for size. Nearest place of any size is Mattawa, 41 km away. After that come Notre-Dame-du-Lac at 52 km and Témiscaming at 54 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac Bleu a short move beats a long cast.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in July and bottom out at -14°C in January. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Lac Bleu fishes to that pattern most years.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Failing this one, try Petit lac Caugnawana, 3 km away. Check the position at Lac Bleu before loading the car.
