Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Beardmore should come off points where shallow meets deep. Save your energy for the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Laurentides, Quebec, is where Lac Beardmore sits. The surface lies 315 metres up. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Morin-Heights at 8.6 km is the nearest place to stop. Further out sit Saint-Sauveur (10 km) and Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts (12 km). This one is safely inside the county line. It holds up in poor weather better than open water does.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. On Lac Beardmore the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The year swings from about -13°C in January to roughly 19°C in July. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near early December: that is the shape of an average year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Beardmore runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. The nearest alternative is Lac Carruthers, 0.7 km out. Check the position on Lac Beardmore before loading the car.
