Soft grey light all day today, with a light chop building from the S with the glass holding level. On Lac Bass, work inflow corners and shaded margins first. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Look for Lac Bass in Outaouais, Quebec. It stands 189 metres above sea level. Surface area is around 10 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. Bank access stretches around 1.7 km in total. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. The closest town, Saint-Raphaël, is 31 km away. Beyond it, Wakefield at 36 km and Val-des-Monts at 41 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Lac Bass the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The seasonal spread runs -13°C to 19°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly early December. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. On Lac Bass that shapes the whole year.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. If the gate is shut, Lac Gauthier at 0.5 km is the nearest alternative. Ask locally about Lac Bass if anything is unclear.
