Fishing Lac Atchynia in Nord-du-Québec, Quebec

• Where to Fish on Lac Atchynia

  There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Atchynia the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.

  Climate records put July near 13°C and January near -25°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late May.
