Flat light and a covered sky today, with a whisper of wind from the SSE and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac Arvisais will be around the shaded margin through bright spells. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Arvisais is one of the Mauricie waters in Quebec. It sits in lake country bush country. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. Supplies mean a trip to Saint-Michel-des-Saints, 50 km off. Saint-Élie-de-Caxton follows at 55 km, then Shawinigan at 59 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Treat Lac Arvisais as a water to read rather than to cover.
The warm month here averages 17°C; the cold one sits at -15°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Lac Arvisais runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Simon at 0.9 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Arvisais in what we hold.
