Overcast skies today, with a kind NW breeze on the water and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac Annie will be around any hard bottom among the soft. Bank on the middle of the day and treat the rest as bonus. Keep expectations modest and fish carefully. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Annie is one of the Outaouais waters in Quebec. It sits in mixed forest country. At 8 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Some 8.2 km away sits Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, the nearest settlement. Orléans sits 67 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lac Annie that means starting tight and working out.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -14°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Averages place the thaw at late April and the freeze at late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lac Annie rarely departs from it.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. The nearest alternative is Lac a Poux, 1 km out. For Lac Annie, the notice at the access point is the final word.
