A storm system brushing the area today, with a whisper of wind from the S with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac Allais around bays that hold the day's warmth. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Allais sits within Laurentides in Quebec. It sits in pine and birch country. At about 16 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. With about 2.1 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Nearest place of any size is Mont-Laurier, 26 km away. After that come Maniwaki at 35 km and Saint-Raphaël at 38 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. At Lac Allais the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The warmest month averages 19°C, the coldest about -14°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. The season on Lac Allais rarely departs from it.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A campsite lies 1.2 km away for anyone staying over. Public toilets are recorded roughly 1.2 km off. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Duffy at 0.5 km is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Lac Allais if anything is unclear.
