Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a whisper of wind from the SW with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Alios will be around bays that hold the day's warmth. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Alios sits within Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec. Everything around it is northern bush. Surface area runs to about 4 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list holds plenty of bigger water. The closest town, Senneterre, is 63 km distant. Val-d'Or follows at 82 km, then Barraute at 86 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch and walleye among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read Lac Alios before you fish it and the day goes better.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Lac Alios runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. You can camp 910 m off, which suits an early start. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Woel, 0.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Alios, the notice at the access point is the final word.
