A closed sky with even light today, with light air out of the SW with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Alassac along points where shallow meets deep. A stay-home graph, with the morning as the one excuse to go. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Abitibi-Témiscamingue entry here is Lac Alassac, in Quebec. Elevation runs to 366 metres. About 6 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Senneterre at 103 km is the nearest place to stop. After that come Val-d'Or at 108 km and Barraute at 123 km. Neighbouring water: Lac Beckie after 0.6 km, Lac Ervin 0.8 km away, Lac des Gaufres after 1.1 km, Lac Godson 1.8 km away and Lac Cambrai after 2.2 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Abitibi-Témiscamingue, recorded fish include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Alassac fishes better once you know its edges.
The seasonal spread runs -17°C to 17°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Plan around that when you fish Lac Alassac.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Failing this one, try Lac Beckie, 0.6 km away. Signs at Lac Alassac carry more weight than any list.
