Heavy overcast holding through the day, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lac Agnes should be near structure within a cast of the bank. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Agnes lies in Nord-du-Québec, in Quebec. What surrounds it is northern bush. With some 95 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Some 8.6 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Supplies mean a trip to Chibougamau, 45 km off. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 248 km away. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Species logged across Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read Lac Agnes for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
The year swings from about -19°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. That is the shape of the year on Lac Agnes.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Obus at 1.4 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Agnes, the notice at the access point is the final word.
