Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and no real change in pressure. Give any hard bottom among the soft the first hour at Lac a Ti-Mousse. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac a Ti-Mousse is a Quebec water. It sits at 498 metres above sea level. Roughly 10 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Roughly 1.7 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Saint-Félicien sits 30 km from here and is the nearest stop. Beyond it, Saint-Prime at 33 km and Roberval at 38 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Lac a Ti-Mousse rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -18°C for January. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan any trip to Lac a Ti-Mousse around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Silo at 1.7 km is the sensible second choice. Where Lac a Ti-Mousse is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
