Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a faint SSW drift and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac a Pou around the seam between weed and open water. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac a Pou lies in Laurentides, Quebec. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. Start from Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 17 km down the road. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is the closest city, 69 km away. Not far off: Lac Malette at 1.7 km, Lac de la Raquette roughly 1.8 km, Lac Renversi at 1.9 km, Lac Cache roughly 2.6 km and Lac a Labelle at 2.6 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Laurentides names pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac a Pou the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Climate records put July near 18°C and January near -14°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. The season on Lac a Pou rarely departs from it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Malette at 1.7 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac a Pou as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
