Wet weather working through today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the W and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Triquet Lake should come off structure within a cast of the bank. A long productive spell runs afternoon into evening. A careful, quiet approach will out-fish a busy one.

Triquet Lake is one of the Sudbury waters in Ontario. The water sits 449 metres up. At about 82 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. With 9.8 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It sits higher than most water we list in Ontario. Chapleau at 28 km is the nearest place to stop. Wawa is 78 km and Sault Ste. Marie 149 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Sudbury list smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter and walleye. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Take Triquet Lake a stretch at a time.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -15°C on the long-run figures. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. The water is typically free of ice between late April and mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Triquet Lake.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Scully Lake at 1.8 km is the nearest alternative. For Triquet Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
