Dull, settled light over the water, with just enough SSE wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Seggemak Lake should fish best around sheltered bays and points today. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Seggemak Lake sits within Kenora District in Ontario. Elevation runs to 422 metres. It measures some 1.59 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. The edge covers about 14 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Start from Dryden, 48 km down the road. Thunder Bay sits 262 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Kenora District include northern pike, longnose sucker, white sucker and johnny darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. The near bank of Seggemak Lake is often the one people ignore.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -18°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Seggemak Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Washeibemaga Lake is 2.8 km distant. None of that is settled for Seggemak Lake in what we hold.
