• Where to Fish on Scum Lake

  Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name cisco, blackfin cisco and rainbow smelt. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Scum Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.

  July runs about 17°C on average, January about -13°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April.
