Showers crossing the water today, with a light chop building from the WNW and pressure sitting still. On Roussain Lake, work sheltered bays and points first. If you pick one session, make it the middle of the day. Keep moving until you find them. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Ontario, Roussain Lake falls inside Algoma. It lies 429 metres above sea level. With some 17 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The bank runs about 2.1 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Nearest town is Sault Ste. Marie, 36 km off. The big place round here is Greater Sudbury, 229 km distant. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Algoma names walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Roussain Lake where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -12°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Roussain Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Leishman Lake is 0.7 km distant. None of that is settled for Roussain Lake in what we hold.
