Overcast skies today, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Fish at Rock Lake should hold close to inflow corners and shaded margins. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the morning. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Rock Lake falls in Frontenac County, part of Ontario. Country round the bank runs to lake country bush. Surface area is around 21 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The margin runs to about 5.2 km in total. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. The closest town, Sharbot Lake, is 23 km distant. For a city, Kingston is 43 km off. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Frontenac County include pumpkinseed, bluegill, rock bass, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Rock Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
The year swings from about -10°C in January to roughly 20°C in July. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid April. Ice usually gives way near mid April, and forms again about mid December. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan around that when you fish Rock Lake.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. For a change of water, Little Wolfe Lake is 0.8 km distant. None of that is settled for Rock Lake in what we hold.
