Cloud coming and going through the night, with a light W breeze with the glass holding level. Give any hard bottom among the soft the first hour at Reua Lake. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Reua Lake in the Algoma part of Ontario. Elevation runs to 396 metres. It measures about 14 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Around 2.5 km of margin, front to back. Most waters listed here for Algoma are larger. Wawa sits 25 km from here and is the nearest stop. Chapleau lies 98 km off, Hornepayne another 114 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. Reua Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Expect July to average close to 16°C, with January the cold end at about -16°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Anyone fishing Reua Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. If the gate is shut, Byron Lake at 1.1 km is the nearest alternative. Signs at Reua Lake carry more weight than any list.
